Pick-up/Sign-out

For pick-up between 3:50 and 5:30 pm, we ask that an authorized adult sign-out with Quest staff from their vehicles. For the safety of students and staff, we will not allow students to walk off campus for pick-up during Quest.  Programming ends and circle curbside pick-up begins at 5:30 and lasts until 5:45 pm.

During the registration process there will be a form to fill out to provide a list of authorized adults who may sign-out your child in addition to their parent or guardian. Please provide a full list, including car-pooling partners.

If a student remains on campus after 5:45 pm a late fee of $10 for the first minute and $1 per minute thereafter will be charged. After 6:45 pm, staff may contact law enforcement, per school policy. Please see Disciplinary Policy section following for procedures regarding repeated lateness or not following sign-out procedures.

After school, students may stay to receive help from tutors on designated office hour days, or participate in enrichment activities designed to engage students and give them exposure to myriad learning experiences. At our Lower School, these activities occur through the EBIA Quest program. Arrangements must be made for on?time pick?up every day.

* In light of the COVID?19 pandemic and the subsequent public health response to prioritize the safety and health of all students, staff and families, the EBIA experience may be modified as needed to include social distancing and online learning during the 2022?23 school year.

Ridesharing Services

As per state and federal law, ridesharing services like Lyft and Uber are forbidden for unaccompanied minors (under the age of 18) unless the service explicitly states that its drivers are qualified to transport an unaccompanied minor. If your student uses ridesharing services to get to and from school, please use services like HopSkipDrive or Zum to ensure that the driver is qualified to transport minors.

All students walking home or using a third-party pickup service must self check out from campus promptly at the 5:30 pm with an EBIA Quest staff person and have a walk waiver on file.

Disciplinary Policy

In order for EBIA to have a safe, fun, and sustainable after-school program all students and families must abide by Quest norms and policies. Our policies boil down to respect: respecting staff, peers, other people’s time, rules which are designed for safety and efficiency. EBIA is a community of families and educators working together, and our first step will be collaborative communication and problem-solving.

However, If these efforts do not solve behavior issues Quest has a strict policy of enforcing defined consequences, up to and including not being invited back to Quest. Being dismissed from Quest will not be grounds for a refund.

Restorative justice promotes values and principles that use inclusive, collaborative approaches for being in community. These approaches validate the experiences and needs of everyone within the community, particularly those who have been marginalized, oppressed, or harmed. These approaches allow us to act and respond in ways that are healing rather than alienating or coercive. -excerpt from Amstutz and Mullet

The community is composed of individuals who exercise self-discipline while understanding the need for inter-dependency.
